The Commission Mandate
The Commission serves the people of Toronto by ensuring your transit system is reliable, safe, and prepared for the future. To that end, we are responsible for planning and coordinating all TTC services; constructing, maintaining and operating the system; and expanding services and facilities where required. Relationship to City Council
The City of Toronto may contribute to the capital and operating costs of the Commission.
Composition of the Board
The TTC is overseen by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, comprised of seven elected City Councillors.

Selection Process
Seven Commissioners, including a Chair, are appointed by City Council.
Term of Office
