Work description and purpose

From mid-April to end of August, the TTC will be conducting roof repairs at High Park Station. During this project, the station will remain open and service will be maintained. Starting in September, roof repairs will be conducted at the second entrance/exit on Parkview Gardens – prior to this work starting an update notice will be issued.

While the majority of the work will be conducted during the day, one or two overnight shifts will be required for safety when conducting activities on the edge of each roof, including:

  • installing and removing guard rails with hand tools at the beginning and end of the project
  • removing and installing new roof flashings

Noise will be kept to a minimum as best as possible.


The traditional method of liquid asphalt application (asphalt kettle) is not being used at this location. The roofing system used is a 3-ply heat application; therefore odour will be less.

Dust and debris disposal

Dust will be controlled as much as possible. A refuse container will be placed in different areas when work is being conducted, including near the Quebec Avenue entrance, in the bus roadway, and near the Parkview Gardens entrance.

Work hours

Work will typically take place during regular daytime hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and may extend to 7 p.m. if needed. Some overnight work will also be required to ensure the safety of workers and customers when working on the edge of each roof.

TTC service

Bus and subway service at the station will be maintained.
