Heart with caption Thank you for noticing

We’re in this together. We’re working hard to make your TTC journey seamless and safe, and your compliments keep us focused on doing just that. Here’s what you had to say about our service this week.

  • I greatly appreciate the 101 Downsview Park driver’s kindness and courtesy! Because of him, I was saved quite a long walk and made it on time for my vaccine appointment! I took the same bus to Sheppard West station on the way back, and he was just as kind and courteous. Thank you for your amazing service.

  • This driver has excellent customer service skills and a great memory to boot! I use the stop request program as I travel alone on the 94 Wellesley and when I approached him to request my stop at Shaw he told me he remembered from last time! I felt like a valued customer.

  • The 505 streetcar driver was excellent. He had to stop abruptly and came out to check if the passengers were ok as well as surrounding vehicles. Giving credit where credit is due!

  • Super energetic and caring bus operator on the 41 Keele route. This man greets every single passenger nicely. I think such a nice person deserves something to show him that his great job can actually change many people's day and mood.

Compliments in May

  • I’m writing a massive compliment to the driver of route 66A Prince Edward. This man goes above and beyond his job description. This man has created joy and positivity with my special needs child. It has taken months of practice with behaviour therapy to travel on the TTC with a 3yr old. He has been encouraging, helpful and supportive to my little girl who now enjoys taking his 7:20am bus every morning. I know this message might sound super cheesy but he needs to be recognized. Thank you!!!

  • Operator of route 25 Don Mills exhibits high levels of situational awareness. This in conjunction with their exceptional EQ, leads to a performance above and beyond expectations.
  • Big shout out to the driver that was driving the Lawrence West express, they were very very kind. We tried to get on the bus, but our 4 month old puppy wouldn’t have it, so I backed us off and gave her a treat. Just before the driver left he made a noise and motioned if we wanted to come back to try again and we got on successfully this time! We REALLY appreciate that he took the time to let us have a second try at getting on her first bus, (he must have puppy training experience!)  and THEN made sure we were totally fine after we got off the bus.

  • Just want to shout out this driver of route 61 Avenue Rd North for always accommodating me at my stop amidst all the construction along Eglinton. Saves me 5 minutes on my commute home and I have that much more time to spend with my family

Hand with a heart floating above it with the caption Excellent Customer Service

  • Thank you to the driver of route 85 Sheppard East, he was so very helpful when I asked him about my lost glasses. He was willing to go a step above. I appreciate his help.

  • We are not riding the TTC as much because of the pandemic and because Simon is high risk (rare generic syndrome, developmental disability). Instead Simon likes to watch streetcars go by and wave at them so they ring their bell for him. We appreciate so much all the drivers who ring their bell for Simon when he is waving at them. It brings him SO MUCH JOY! Thank you for your kindness and bringing my son Simon some joy during these challenging times.

  • Great job on the shuttle buses (Kennedy to Victoria Park) today! I didn't have to wait at all. Staff are informing and directing people where to go. It was well orchestrated.

Smiling face with the caption Made My Day

  • I am a frontline worker at St. Michael's, a doctor working with COVID patients and end of life patients. We are inundated and I am working 7 days a week for over a month, long hours including overnights. I am painting this context because your lovely driver this morning stopped when he saw me rushing to the 5 Avenue Road bus stop. His kind gesture really made me feel as though we were all in this together and gave me a huge smile to start my day.

Compliments in April

  • The driver of a 501L bus was gesturing wildly at me. I couldn't understand why. When I got to the other corner, I put my hand in my pocket and noticed my credit card was missing. The driver was trying to tell me I had dropped it coming out of a grocery store. I'm going to make a donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank on behalf of this driver. Thanks so much, whoever you are!
  • This morning an elderly man flipped over on a medical motorized scooter and was pinned under his scooter on the sidewalk, Not only did the driver stop to let me get to the elderly man, he pulled the 12 Kingston Road bus over to come assist and made sure we were alright. Please convey my deepest gratitude and how much this reflects the professionalism, community standards and values we expect from the TTC.

  • I just wanted the driver of the 6 Bay bus to know that he made my day with his generous offer to wait for a fellow essential worker to get home after a long shift. It’s been a tough year for all of us and that proved that we are still in this together!

Smiling face with the caption Made My Day

  • What a lovely fellow driving the midafternoon 161 Rogers Rd route. His cheerful, jovial manner and pleasant way of engaging with customers was a lovely pick-me-up, especially during the rough times we live in.

  • Thank you to a wonderful, safe, punctual and polite driver that I often used to see commuting from work on the 134 Progress in the mornings. I would like to compliment TTC for employing such great operators who show and maintain such high degree of professionalism in their daily jobs!
  • The driver lowered the 506 Carlton bus to allow my elderly father on with as little discomfort as possible. He also greeted us both with a friendly "Good morning!” During these unprecedented and challenging times, especially with the limited mobility of my father, I really appreciated this driver's exceptional customer service and I wanted to acknowledge him for it.
  • I would like to commend the actions of your  bus driver, JC, for his kindness to me yesterday, when I was riding on the 34 Eglinton East route. He is tidy and neat, expert in navigation and a great conversationalist. He is really an awesome driver.

  • I just know his first name, Michael. The driver of 109 Ranee is professional, kind, communicative, dedicated, amazing. Since 2012, he’s always helping, listening, answering and of course driving us safely, giving the best of himself.
  • The 109 Ranee operator always goes above and beyond to help passengers and is extremely patient with the elderly and people who seem to be in some type of distress! Great hire!

  • I would like to thank and commend the TTC  for putting on extra buses today on the 504 King route. It made me feel safe and with options.

  • Literally the nicest, funniest, most welcoming TTC employee I’ve ever met. Seems genuinely happy and drove the 501 Queen extremely well. I’ve taken some form of TTC to work every day for ten years and have never met such a lovely person.
  • I have been delighted with your Line 1 Shuttle bus services from St. George subway to Queen’s Park station the last two weeks. I am an outpatient at Princess Margaret Hospital twice weekly. Your cheerful and helpful bus drivers and staff giving directions were clearly enjoying their work. Thank you very much.

  • I would like to thank and commend the 16 McCowan bus driver for going out of his way to help me with my grocery cart today. Bus drivers like him make taking the TTC a pleasant experience. Thank you!

Compliments in February

  • The 62 Mortimer driver is a credit to the TTC. So friendly and genial. After breaking my leg and getting used to crutches, he was so patient and helped me learn to get on and off.  He would warn me about icy patches and when he saw me hobbling towards the bus, he would tell me to slow down and wait till I got on. I’m normally very independent and it has been hard relying on other people and services to get around.  He is a bright part of my day.
  • The 504 King streetcar was going through a light and an older man was running to catch it. The snow was very slippery and dangerous. The driver used his loudspeaker as he drove by to say to the man, "don't rush I'll wait for you - be careful.” It was a really amazing thing to do for a senior. This driver is a really considerate, compassionate person.
  • Our vehicle was hit by a car that ran through a stop sign. The driver then proceeded to drive away. This happened in front of the 24 Victoria Park bus that was at the bus stop. The operator called it in and was able to describe the vehicle to the police. Steve then got his passengers on the next bus and allowed us to stay warm. He was comforting us and helping to deal with the situation. He gave a report to the police and assisted me with who I needed to call and what my next steps would be. We wouldn't have known what to do if it wasn't for him.

Rocket ship blasting off with the caption Above and Beyond

  • I witnessed the 501 Queen driver go above and beyond with customer service and professionalism several times! He’s not only a good driver but a good man. Please give this driver credit so he knows he's appreciated.
  • An elderly lady who left from the rear door of the 60 Steeles West bus, went a few steps to the sidewalk and slipped and fell on the ice and puddle. Mike (the driver) picked her up and sat her on the bench and helped her straighten up. This act was wonderful and he should be commended for his thoughtfulness and care.
  • I got on 996 at Humber hospital going to Wilson Station where I met driver Azimi. It was my first time riding on the TTC having moved here recently. I asked about PRESTO as it was my first time using it. He took the time to explain it to me. Also explained briefly how the transit system works. He handed me a map of the TTC that he had on hand. His professionalism, courtesy and knowledge was outstanding.

  • Shout out to the 334 Eglinton East operator. Thanks for driving the Eglinton Blue Line on this very snowy morning and waiting for people as you saw them running.
  • Got off the 17 Birchmount at Ellesmere, but left my purple bag on the bus. The next day I called Lost and Found and got it back. All drivers were very helpful with information and all service phone operators were helpful.
  • I have never seen such a dedicated employee who loves their job so much. Firstly, following all the rules and regulations and all the pandemic norms he makes sure that all of his passengers have a comfortable ride. His dealing with all the passengers is simply amazing.
  • The 501 Queen operator is always on time. Friendly and very Polite. Very good customer service. He waits for a minute in case if any commuters are hopping on his streetcar. Keep up the great work and he really has a positive attitude. Keep smiling and stay safe.

Heart in a word balloon with the caption Kudos for Kindness

  • I would like to applaud your driver today on the 87 Cosburn route. An elderly man was getting off at East York Acres with his walker full of groceries. She put down the ramp for him to make it easier, but some of his groceries fell off. She quickly got out of her seat and helped him gather them up. She didn’t hesitate. Great job!
  • The 925 Don Mills Express driver saw me running for the bus and at the last second stopped before he pulled off. He showed great compassion for my need, which reflects well on his character. He is an asset to your organization.
  • It makes me happy when this operator serves the 135 Gerrard route. He's always so pleasant and greets me. Love that he's serving our neighbourhood!
  • The driver on the 501 Queen route was so warm and friendly to passengers and other people at the stops. I was so impressed with his positive attitude and personality, and his willingness to help, as it really made a difference! Also thank you to all TTC drivers and operators who are doing essential work and keeping our city running during these trying times.

 Right on time

  • This driver was so incredible. I was heading to an interview and had I missed the 24B Victoria Park bus I would have been late. Not only that, I told him where to get off, he acknowledged me when it was my stop. I wasn't sure where I should go and he directed me. He made my day and I know the other passengers felt so too.
  • Thank you so much for the 34 Eglinton East driver. They are courteous, punctual, friendly… best driver in the TTC.

  • This is a compliment for the driver of the bus. His professionalism, willingness to help not only me but all the passengers that boarded the bus. A special Thank You for hiring drivers that have a passion for their work and help passengers avoid more stress especially during this COVID time.

  • I am contacting you regarding my extremely pleasant experience with a TTC operator, Justin. He is kind to all passengers and will do anything to ensure people are comfortable during their ride on the 509 Harbourfront. It is clear Justin loves his job and brings his best every day. He puts the customer and safety first! He is an amazing example of what the TTC represents.
  • Never have I seen a TTC employee with so much personality. Instead of waving he gives a "rock on" gesture and he's quite courteous to all passengers. We need more people like him in customer service.
  • Our driver today was amazing!  She was so helpful and made our trip to Royal York subway such fun!  Really pleasant person, and on our return trip back we were again on her bus! She is a valuable employee.

  • I would like to thank all involved at the TTC who ensured an elevator was installed at Runnymede subway station. We take a toddler in a stroller (and soon a second baby too) twice daily through the station so the elevator has made a very significant improvement to our lives! Thank you very much! Your work really makes a difference.
  • I got on 996 at Humber hospital going to Wilson Station where I met driver Azimi. It was my first time riding on the TTC having moved here recently. We need more supervisors like him who actively listen to the situation at hand and provide quick solutions to the problem. I don’t worry when I know Wayne is running the line :)

Compliments in January

  • Operator on streetcar 503 Kingston Road is doing a great job. Nice and smooth driving.
  • Male, driver with black face mask. He is a regular 43C Kennedy driver. Just want to say he is very respectful, kind, conscientious person. He cares for his bus patrons a lot. Today he personally made sure a patron was aware of the route of 43C as it does not go further than Village Green. I was very impressed!

 Life Saver

  • I would like to thank the 36 Finch West driver who picked up my friend and called the police. She has dementia and wandered out on the coldest night this year. If he had not stopped, my friend might not be alive now. Please extend my gratitude to this driver.

  • Congratulations to the driver who started his shift today at Lawrence West Station towards Lawrence St. He took the time to clean all areas and greeted passengers!

  • Kudos to the wonderful 49 Bloor West bus driver who took the time and effort to help a stranded man with his scooter. He went beyond the call of duty to assist him. He helped to move the man to a shelter, and connected him to further assistance with his cell. Very heartwarming! Thanks to him!

  • Amazing service from the two ladies working at the photo place at Bathurst Station. They were friendly and very helpful.
  • Great driver, very pleasant and knowledgeable. We had a detour on the 70 O’Connor route and he made sure to communicate this to passengers so they got to where they should. Please hire more like him!

  • I had the most enjoyable ride on the 89 Weston bus. The driver was courteous, thanked all for tapping and paying and was a good driver. Travelled smoothly with no sudden stops or lane changes. A real personable driver doing a good job. Thanks for the ride!
  • As the bus was pulling away from the stop the driver saw me running and waited for me. He showed compassion for my needs and it reflects well on him and your organization.

Compliments in December

  • Really nice driver. Waited for a male who was running for the bus which was really good to see – he cares. He also thanked everyone for riding the TTC and wished us to be safe and enjoy our day. Hearing that made my day. He’s professional, kind and understanding of others. Well done.
  • Many thanks to TTC and the driver for helping my mother on and off the 63 Ossington bus at 8:15 p.m. on December 5, 2020. The TTC driver went out of his way to open the ramp manually, since it was frozen in cold weather and he was so pleasant to my mother. His action makes my family and I so proud of the TTC and their staff that they care so much about Torontonians during the pandemic and help my mother, especially in such a difficult time. Thank you TTC and thank you to the driver. We need more kindness and fantastic customer service such this.

  • I extend a HUGE thank you to all TTC staff for keeping our public transportation open during this pandemic! You are on the front lines, moving essential workers to their jobs at risk to yourselves. Wishing each of you a happy 2021!
  • I was moved by how the bus driver showed what kindness means. An older passenger was travelling alone and having difficulties. The driver told him his stop and also helped him cross the busy street of Eglinton and Birchmount. This shows that even while in a Pandemic, there’s still a lot of people that will go out of their way to help and be kind to other people. Thank you for all your hard work especially during these difficult times.
  • The driver (504 King) made an announcement reminding everyone that the weekend is coming up & to keep their chins up and to stay positive. Just wanted to let the driver know how much it meant to me to hear that on a particularly tough morning & how positively that small gesture will have impacted everyone who was on that streetcar this morning. I didn’t see a single person who wasn’t smiling under their mask.

  • TTC operator on Monday, November 30, around 7 p.m. at Humber loop on 66A trip waited for my mom to egress the streetcar to make her bus, missing a 20+ minute wait. She has health issues. Please commend this driver, she is awesome. More like her please!!!
  • The gentleman who drives the 86 Scarborough bus at this time, is a wonderful person. I see him a few times a week when I take my daughter to daycare on the bus (15 min ride) and he is always friendly and extremely helpful to all the riders. I’ve noticed on a few occasions where he has gone above to help someone and doesn’t hesitate to get off the bus and help too when needed. You need more drivers like him. My daughter says “bye grandpa” when we get off LOL
  • Driver is friendly to all passengers boarding bus (83 Jones), saying hello and making eye contact. Also saying have a good day. Very nice to see.

  • Good morning!! Whoever drives the 336 Finch West is awesome!!! Great customer service. Even better driving skills. Thank you.
  • Great Operator and person to talk with. His driving is great! Hope to commute with him again!

  • I just wanted to compliment the driver on this route (79 Scarlett Road) this morning. I have had her at least 3 times this week and each time she has been cordial and professional. She is a great driver and she keeps her riders informed if there is a delay.

  • The operator on 42 Cummer has been my driver for many board periods. He always greeted me with a “good morning” and a smile. Once masks became mandatory, he greeted with me with a wave as well. He also would wait for me while I was running on those mornings that I was a little slower than I should have been! It was very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • As I left the vehicle (111 East Mall bus), I stated to the driver that he is truly a thoughtful individual! He made sure to lower front steps of the vehicle for those of us carrying bags and with carts.  He also made sure that no one was left behind who might have been attempting to make a bus-to-bus connection. He was also vigilant and thoughtful to, and with, other vehicles on the road. Although I am a senior, I am still observant; hoping that my six children conduct themselves, when out-and about, as this TTC employee did. Truly: considerate, kind and dutiful!  Exciting to witness!  I remain most grateful!
  • I was delighted to see masks being offered to people entering the station (at Pape Station). I've only ridden the subway at off peak times (usually weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.) but have been impressed by the distancing behavior of my fellow riders and the fact that I've only seen a very few people who were not wearing masks.
  • Today was the first day of snowfall in Toronto. The sidewalks were a bit slippery. This operator (of the 32 Eglinton West route) took the time to put the bus in park and exit the vehicle to help an elderly lady who was afraid she would fall. Although she motioned to him to keep driving (she clearly did not want to delay him) he took the time to hold her hands and helped her on the bus. She was very appreciative. It was very refreshing to see.

  • The bus driver was so nice and communicated well to us despite extreme construction delays on Front street and Spadina. This route is affected every day and the drivers have done a really good job getting people where they need to be on time.
  • I take this bus (927 Highway 27 Kipling) everyday at this time after work. This bus route is a connecting bus from the 112c to Kipling Station for me and I would like to sincerely thank this driver for waiting just a little so that I and all my coworkers could make the connection! Thanks to his compassion I was able to stay out of the cold, stay safe and get home a lot quicker! Thank you so much driver!

  • Great/careful driving, on time, very considerate to elderly riders, polite and properly wearing PPE. A delight being a passenger on her bus (72 Pape)!
  • The 95 York Mills bus driver did an excellent job assisting multiple passengers with mobility aids entering and exiting the bus.
  • I wish to compliment the operator (of the 24 Victoria Park route) and thank him for stopping after leaving the bus stop in order to pick me up. I am a senior, and was running in order to catch the bus.

  • Due to the pandemic, the community based organization that I work for has reassigned me many times to different locations in the East York area. I wanted to compliment you on your website, especially the Trip Planner. You have made a difficult time a little less stressful. Thanks!

  • I just wanted to take the time to recognize a bus driver on the 6:40 am 124 Sunnybrook route. He provides excellent customer service, allowing me to feel safe in the dark hours of the morning on my way to work. Thank you to him for always providing exceptional service.
  • I am on this driver’s route (6 Bay) three days every week and he is the most pleasant and congenial person. I look forward to seeing him on this route.

  • We happened to be awake in the night and heard noise on the tracks that go outside between Runnymede & High Park stations. Workers were using a grinder. We were delighted when subway service started in the morning and we no longer heard the very loud clackety-clack of the trains going west! Thank you!

  • I want to commend the TTC on the cleanliness of your washrooms. I was in the one at Yonge and Bloor this afternoon and the cleaner was working very hard to keep it spotless. Please thank her and all cleaners for their service!

  • I was standing at the next stop over, waiting for the 503 Kingston Road streetcar to leave the station, which I knew would take a few minutes. The driver waved me down and told me to come over, and he said he didn’t want me waiting there in the cold because he wouldn’t be leaving for a few more minutes. I just thought it was very thoughtful and really appreciated it.
